Emel is a fashion creative based in Geneva, with roots in Istanbul and London. Her creative journey began in Istanbul, where she first developed her artistic voice, before moving to London to complete a master’s degree at the London College of Fashion, supported by a grant from the Turkish Ministry of Economics.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with established brands such as Hakaan and worked with clients including Harrods and Amazon. Her work has also received international recognition, including an award from Fendi in a fur-making design competition.
In 2025, Emel relocated to Geneva, where she continues to develop her practice at the intersection of cultural heritage and contemporary design. Inspired by colour and intricate detail, her work draws on Ottoman visual traditions and global artistic influences, reinterpreting them into distinctive, wearable forms.
As the founder of Vesper, Emel creates 100% silk scarves that combine timeless craftsmanship with a modern sensibility. Each piece is carefully woven and printed, and finished with hand-rolled hems crafted by skilled women artisans in local communities, ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail.
Her work is guided by a commitment to creating pieces that transcend trends, offering enduring designs that carry colour, memory, and meaning.
